Khary Wilson

Khary Wilson joined OperaCréole for HNOC’s Concert Spirituel, Pedro Memelsdorf, conductor.
Khary hails from Baton Rouge Louisiana. He recently performed the Roles of George Stinney, Sr in George Stinney, Jr: An American Execution at Glow Lyric Theater in Greenville SC., Frederick Douglass in Seneca Falls in the Micro Opera Fest in Baton Rouge, and the Tenor Soloist in Schubert’s Stabat Mater.
In 2011, Mr. Wilson was a Young Artist with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh and performed the roles of Remendado in “Carmen”, Spanish Don in “Candide” and Schwertliede in “The Valkyrie Suite”, one of several commissioned one-acts for OPT’s SummerFest called “Night Caps”. This past summer Mr. Wilson performed Andrès, Cochenille, Frantz and Pitichinaccio in “Les Contes D’Hoffmann” with the Harrower Opera Work Shop and “Simon Zealots” in Jesus Christ Superstar with GLOW Lyric Theater.
Mr. Wilson recently completed his DMA in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy from Louisiana State University in 21’and is currently on the voice faculty at Southern University in Baton Rouge.
